Warcraft 2 Remastered Bugs and Feedback

Maybe leave them greyed out? So you can see who died\left, instead of just finding less players

Some of these may have already been said, but I’ll say them just in case they weren’t:
-Pushing escape or F10 in the game pulls up the in-game menu, but pushing those in the menu do nothing. Allow for F10 and escape to both leave the menu and open it.
-Add back keyboard shortcuts for all the options in the main menu
-Add back keyboard shortcuts for all the options the in-game menu
-The Blizzard animation played when the game is first started is choppy and not smooth like in the BNE (if that’s not just an issue with my computer).

Credit to SuperNinTaylor on YouTube for these missing features and ideas below (Disclaimer: I’ve personally only played single player in the Remastered edition, but these are features not in the Remastered multiplayer according to him that are important):
-have an outer chat lobby for multiplayer when not joined to a game and not just a list of games when first clicking on multiplayer from the main menu
-Have a separate folder for user-created custom maps in multiplayer
-Automatically download other people’s custom maps when playing with them so you don’t have to manually download and add them to your own installation folder outside the game (to add to this, at least add an option to automatically or manually download them from inside the pregame lobby)
-Allow for the alteration of unit stats on custom maps in multiplayer (like how I know it is in the BNE map editor)
-Add an option for random start location instead of just fixed order so that you don’t start in the same location every game
-Add top vs. bottom and melee options in the pregame lobby
-Allow host to remove people from the pregame lobby
-Return player to an outer chat lobby mentioned above instead of the main menu (to add to this, at least return the player to the list of games like in WC2R if there will not be a chat lobby added outside the pregame lobbies).
-Add a competitive element to the multiplayer including competitive ranks with emblems for them or at least provide a win-loss record for each player
-Better unit pathfinding (not just in multiplayer but in general)

I was just watching a War2 game as it began. I allied everyone and clicked Allied Victory then it gave me a win showing “victory.” This should be patched.

@phaolo sure that’d work for me

Also, another feature nice to have would be the videos of the battles on the main menu of the BNE if you sat there long enough that showed battles of humans and orcs fighting each other.

I just found a bug in Human 01 of Beyond the Dark Portal. I actually won without bringing Danath to the Circle of Power, I even didnt rescue him, nor discovered him - got a screenshot of it

Nuckle (Tupac), I agree on most of your suggestions up until:

These, IMO, would make it a different (NEW) game. Great Expansion idea.
Some would argue that fixing unit pathing would do that too. Warcraft 2 is alot about micro vs other RTS. As a veteran, you know this.
However, I do agree these changes would attract new players. I really like the idea of Mini-Map Pinging.

===========================================================

Could you clarify the second half of this bulletin?

To me, I would want the legacy (BNE) game balance if both clients were to be compatible to play in a multiplayer game together. Only if one had purchased the Remaster should the new options be available.

=======================================================================

I disagree with the following:

Buy the game again on another account, if you want to smurf.

=====================================================================

I really strongly agree with:

Bring back the IRC style BATTLENET like any of the RTS; War2BNE, SC2, War3.

==============================================================

Nice suggestions write up, Nuckle. Cheers. Have a happy holidays!

I find it amusing that bliz fixes everything EXCEPT the 2 items that actually BREAK the game in multiplayer. Fog of war and Fixed order. A search for “fixed order” in this form brings up more results than looking for the term “the” lol. If there was ever someone looking for proof that Blizz doesnt know how to make a game, this would be it.

Both of these bugs are literally built in maphacks. They tried fixing the Fog issue, but managed to F it up, one can still disable it. And they didnt even ATTEMPT to fix the fixed order problem (every game starts with fixed order on… IN MULTIPLAYER) hahahahaha. Fixed order is supposed to be an OPTION. Not the built in default. And even the Fixed Order itself is broken. It’s random WITHIN the fixed order. It’s supposed to be fixed order OR random. Not a combination of both!! hahahaha omfg.

There’s no excuse that could be used to excuse away how long it’s been since they released this and knew about these 2 bugs. None. Even if they fixed it now, it wont wipe away the blatantness of this purposeful adding of hacks to their own games because at this point, the only excuse that would work is “We did it on purpose”.

What game company purposely adds hacks to their games?..

Blizzard.
