It is weird because in Starcraft I Remastered I was perfectly able to save games and campaign progress. So it indicates that it’s a fault on Blizzard side. Unfortunatelly not even the last patch 1.0.0.2184 of Warcraft I repairs this issue. I’m experiencing the same issue in Warcraft II as well. And also in Warcraft II the game very often pauses itself which makes the game very annoying to play.
that makes perfect sense. starcraft is newer and it have gotten more patches through its life. starcraft remastered also have a 64 bit executable, which warcraft 1 remastered lacks.
It’s been a whole month since Rematers’ release, and the save-game issue persists in both games. I want to go through the campaigns during my Christmas break. I can assure you that if this problem is not patched, this was the last time Blizzard got my money.
Disclaimer: I’m not interested in “Blizzard does not need your money” replies. I don’t care, I’m just gonna spend elsewhere next time.
I am sorry, but I can’t believe that majority of the players are playing on Windows 8.1 or lower. I think many players play on Windows 11 and 10 without any issues, so what’s the reason that I’m having such issues?
Is there a fix for this? I’m playing on Win 10 and cannot save meaning I cannot actually play the campaign…
something about the later builds of windows 10 causes a conflict with this game`s save system. i do not have the issue myself due to running an old build(build 17134).
This is already a month since W1 and W2 Remaster release and this is still not fixed. Game is still UNPLAYABLE! Cant play a game that I paid for, because saves dont work. Blizzard does not care about its clients at all. What a madness.
there is likely a solution. i am just not sure what that is. i am unable to diagnose the problem on my end, due to not having it.
Folks can revert to an older version of Windows 10. Also ask support on Microsoft forums and support chat.
Also try installing the game in a more basic folder like C:/games/Warcraft
Try running the executable as administrator.
Try installing on another drive.
Basic tricks like that, there are more. It might be conflicting with something else in Windows, like OneDrive or not have access to the default save location (sometimes happens because OneDrive claimed the folder).
Ok, thank you for tips.
But still, why I paid for a game and now need to waste time on trying to solve a problem with saving? ALL other games I own dont have this problem. So this for sure could be solved on a game side, which should be done by Blizzard.
