On my desktop (Win 10) suddenly the Battle Net app complains that the Battle net Update Agent went asleep and attempts to wake up.

Interestingly my laptop (Win 10) which runs on the same network (wired) and runs the same antivirus is absolutely fine. So I don’t think it’s my IP or home network (Everything has been reset, no change).
I tried to download Battle net app installer but that gets stuck at about 5% of downloading necessary files. So I cannot reinstall. (This works fine as well on the laptop).
I turned off antivirus and firewall temporarily (ESET 15.0.16.0) but that didn’t help.
I can run the game by going into the retail folder and start wow.exe but I assume that will only work until the next update …
Also of note is while all other programs run fine, the Nvidia Geforce Experience software only shows a black screen now (a common error reported on the net). This error occurred at the same time as the battle net launcher failed.
Reinstalling that software didn’t help that particular problem either.
same problems here, agent alseep can rarely even start b net app most of the time. When I do, I can’t install any games just non stop spinning/loading when I click install on every game. Had to refund Diablo 2 and not sub to WoW cause I cant play anything. Have had this problem for weeks and I’ve tried everything even reinstalling windows. This exact problem has happened to a few people I know and I thought they just didn’t know much about computers but this is a bnet/isp problem, and its gone on for far too long
Same issue here. Tried reinstalling & deleting program folder & it still persists. I think the newest Win 10 update might have broken it. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.
Same here. Been doing support articles and everything I could find that was related to not being able to connect to battle.net. I had even uninstalled d2r but, now can’t reinstall. Couldn’t uninstall/reinstall battle.net. I went as far as to do a factory reset on my computer. Still can’t install battle.net. Just like the fella above me posted. Gets about 5% in and no more. I can’t even install the game to play offline, darn it. At this point its been about 3-4 days since I had this all of a sudden problem. Really bummed out at this point. No idea what to do.
It might be worth trying a Windows Network Reset and a Factory Reset on the modem and router if the troubleshooting in the support articles has all failed. These two things should set all the network settings to defaults.
If the problem continues after that testing a different network would be the next thing to try. This can be done by disconnecting the computer form the home network and connecting it to a mobile hotspot or similar. A VPN may also work for something like this but we cannot assist with setup of any such programs.
Basically if the problem does not happen on a different network, but does on the home network, it means it may be time to contact the internet service provider. Let them know that the problem only happens while connected through their network. This should help them understand the problem is isolated.
I do hope the information helps. Let us know how things go!
