Hi,
I’m not sure what started this error, but my Battle Net launcher was running fine a couple days ago.
When I go to run the exe file, the launcher runs, but the client shows up as a white window with no information in it. Then, (I suppose) a Windows error pops up stating:
“Battle net: Battle net exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point ucrtbase._o__cexit could not be located in the dynamic link library api-ms-win-crt-private-l1-1-0.dll.”
I’ve tried uninstalling the Battle Net client, restarting my computer, then re-installing the client, but still run into the same error upon launching the client. I tried googling the error but the only thing close was for a user that ran into a similar error but was running Linux. I’m running Windows 7 if that helps.
Thanks.
Editing this as I was able to finally fix the problem and would like to help out whoever searches next. Submitting a ticket turned out to be extremely successful, and identified a major problem with my computer. While my computer was still set to provide updates to Windows in the middle of the night if there were any available, going into the Control Panel and checking for updates myself would always end in an error.
Somehow, the Background Intelligent Transfer Service [BITS] was set within the Windows Task Manager / Services tab as having a delayed start but was never actually starting up for me. Setting that BITS service to always start and installing an update for Windows Updater allowed for a large amount of important and recommended updates to start flooding through Windows Updater.
Too many Windows updates and computer restarts later, I was finally able to get into the Battle Net client without a problem. I hope this helps someone in the future!
