Unable to install Battle.net App in Windows 11

Hi,

I’m trying to install Battle.net app in order to play Diablo 4 without success (I was able to install normally in my Windows 10 laptop but not on my W11 PC)

I’ve tried multiple things to solve it:

  • Restarted PC multiple times
  • Flushed DNS
  • Disabled W11 Firewall
  • Change internet connection from USB to Shared from Ethernet from Laptop
  • Closed all background apps

Doesn’t matter what I try the result is the same and the launcher installer gets stuck on “Updating Battle.net Update Agent…”

Anyone had this issue before? No idea what to try, I was really looking forward playing D4 with my friends.

From the ProgramFiles Setup logs, just keeps waiting forever:

EDIT: Forgot to say I already opened a support ticket: Issue ID #89256270 but I haven’t been contacted yet.

EDIT 2: I was able to install the launcher on my old Windows 10 laptop, but can’t install on my PC with Windows 11…

I HAD THE SAME ISSUE.

My situations

  • I was not able to install the battle.net app on Windows 10. Now I upgrade to Windows 11 and it does not solve the problems.
    Methods I tried:
  • reset the network connections,
  • delete all the battle.net related files across all possible locations (program file x86 and so forth),
  • use VPN try to use a new connection,
  • resetting the WMI Repository,
  • upgrade to Windows 11.
  • Create a new Windows Administrator account.
    all those methods does not work for me in either Windows 10 or 11.

I solved the problem by the following (which is amazing it just works by only changing the locale):

  1. press ‘win+R’ and enter ‘regedit’
  2. Selecte ‘\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Launcher’
  3. Change the value of ‘Locale’ to ‘enUS’

I have experienced the same issue. I tried all methods mentioned in other posts but had no success.

I finally solved it.

Step 1: copy the battle.net folder from your friend’s computer, and paste it to your computer.
Step 2: turn-off firewall (which may not be necessary)
Step 3: run battle.net from the pasted folder

Hope this works for you.
