Surv Hunter in WOTLK

i dont know where else to ask this question, so,
I have a very specific question about the hunter class in wotlk, when u put frost trap under the boss and it gets triggered, obviously the boss is not gonna get slowed, but wouldnt there be the debuff on the boss or just it cant gets the debuff, for the {point of no escape}, the 6% crit, and lock and load proc, isnt it suppose to work on bosses? cuz the talent says “affected” not slowed, and when the boss is standing on it, its being affected, i appreciate ur time.
