Stuck on "Updating Blizzard Agent" about 35%

Earlier today my battle.net launcher had an update for Overwatch that was stuck on “Fetching CDN configuration”. I decided to uninstall and try to reinstall the launcher and now it’s stuck on “Updating Blizzard Agent”.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

•Rename any battlenet and blizzard folders in %LOCALAPPDATA%, %APPDATA%, %TEMP%, %PROGRAMDATA%

•Run as admin

•Created new local admin account and run as admin from that account

•Check for windows updates (no recently installed updates either)

•Try install in safe mode with networking

•Reset router

•Perform ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew

•Disable controlled folder access

•Added ports 80, 443, 1119, 1120, 3724, 4000, 6112, 6113, 6114 to port forwarding

I believe the problem is network related, as I tried on another PC that is connected via WiFi and was unable to update my games as well. Then I connected to a mobile hotspot and it started updating (extremely slowly).

Hey, BubblyFrog! Thank you for the detailed description of what you’ve done so far! With the hotspot working, this does point to a network or connection related issue such as routing, protocols, or mitigation. Could you include a WinMTR test? Run this test for 5 to 10 minutes to us.patch.battle.net. Copy and paste the text file created and paste it between two ~~~ like so:

If you have issues pasting here, use Pastebin and post the end of the link. (ie. 123456 for pastebin.com/123456)

I resolved this issue by switching to a new router just to install battle.net…
