This is completely absurd. Several times, while normally playing a game, sometimes in a Baal run, sometimes just in a game talking to someone or worst, sometimes even transferring product, I get a lost connection message and I get kicked to log in where the Checking Versions prompt just loads and loads until it says Cannot Connect to Battle.Net. What?!? I don’t understand why this keeps happening. I’ve tried changing my WiFi connect from 2.4ghz to 5 ghz and even hardwire ethernet connection to see if this might’ve caused the problem. Nothing. At this point, it’s really frustrating. Please, someone help. There has to be a fix or at least some news on this issue.
so im pretty sure the checking versions your talking about is a temp 2 week ban.
this is happening to me and that is what cs had said to me.
buuut…i was able to still play by using a totally different internet connection, brand new keys, and a different pc. but now all of d2battlenet servers are screwed and no one is responding.
so in short im 99% sure your temp banned. i honestly wouldnt try to log on till you get a solid response from an admin/cs ticket. but in all reality even if you do go through all the trouble and get working for a few hours, you are more than likely going to run into the same issues we are all getting. so if its worth it, is up to you.
and if it makes sense. anymore most ips are just reassigned by a mac address. which you cannot change. people have said, if you live in a rather populated area, you can try unplugging your router and hoping your ip/mac address gets reassigned to someone else. wich is totally by chance. that is the “over night” method. im not sure what happened to the 5-15 minute method. but with dhcp reassigning you the same ip, iv never gotten mine to change period. so people like us are stuck waiting.
with the 2.4/5/lan thing, there are different types of ip addresses. a base address gets assigned, and then is re divided to the different types of outputs you have. even though the 2.4/5/lan can have different ips, the game still reads the base ip.
Actually I don’t get banned for more than 5 - 10 minutes.
