im trying to re install Overwatch 2 but it keep getting an error that something went wrong so i restarted battle net and then tried scan and repair but im stuck in a loop where i cant scan since i have to update but whenever i try to update it makes me scan… ive already deleted the cache and battlenet folders 10+ times, restarted my pc, updated drivers, uninstalled OW2 4 times, uninstalled battle.net, still not working
Welcome to the club, your going to be here awhile. Blizzard’s copy/paste response has been used so much it has been flagged as spam…
me too, I have done everything that has been suggested, check antivirus, repositories, install/ unistall game and app, updated drives, nothing is working. It’s been 4 days now
If you’re still having issues, the easiest way to fix it is to delete the game folder and reinstall from scratch. Something seems to be bugged out with existing files and uninstall doesn’t work properly. Another user said installing to a different folder/drive worked for them.
I had the same problem and found this video:
I know it’s on Warzone, but it also worked on OW2!
The second method was the one that worked for me.
Much easier instant fix.
- Let it try to update.
- When windows asks if battlenet can do this or that on your computer, answer NO.
- When you hit NO, pause the download.
- Play Lights up, hit play, game launches.
- Enjoy.
OMG that worked. I love you so much! Even Blizzard couldn’t tell how to solve it
