Stuck at checking versions

Can’t seem to connect to battle net with the game just hanging on checking versions. Taking a quick look at similar posts it appears that this may be from accidentally trying to connect when I had my VPN turned on.

Since I can’t check if thats why i can’t connect and i’m not getting an actual error message, is that why I cannot connect?

Its been 3 days and i’m still not able to connect to my account? is this a ban, or is it a technical issue, there really is no clarity here and I’d quite like to actually play the game

Attempting to play Diablo 2 on Battle.net with an active VPN will automatically hit you with a two week restriction. Other reasons for two week restrictions are trying to play while connected through a business-class ISP and some mobile hot spots.

I believe if you try to connect to battle.net with an active VPN or a business-class ISP while a restriction is in place, it extends the time by resetting the two week duration.
It’s unknown if trying to connect without VPN/business-class ISP does anything to extend the duration, but I suspect that it doesn’t.

If you do use a VPN, you have to make absolutely sure that it is turned off before trying to play on Battle.net, and only play on residential ISP connections.

With any restriction, Blizzard won’t remove them early for any reason, you’ll just have to wait them out.

I think Blizzard may notify this on the game, i just update the client last week and when i am going to connect to battle.net i only has the message “disconnected from server”

All well and good if its actually a ban not a technical issue. Appreciate your help guessing at the cause. Still getting the same issue, message after checking versions says to try again in a few minutes, shouldn’t be still happening after 4 days

It’s not a guess, but rather knowledge of the situation that you’re in. I’ve been both watching the forums and trying to help others when I’m able to for some time now and have seen multiple people get slapped with a two week restriction for VPN usage. The two week time frame for VPN usage has been mentioned numerous times by Blizzard reps in the past on this forum and the old forum.

Since it’s already been 4 days, I’d recommend just waiting for 10 days before trying again, and make absolutely sure that VPN is off before trying.

Sorry but since you aren’t able to check the actual connection, and there isn’t an error code, it is only a guess, maybe its informed but you can’t know.

Seems that i am still unable to connect, keep trying like it says to, doesn’t say to not try and connect. Will submit a ticket to blizzard since its clear something isn’t right for whatever reason. weird.

tried to but it didn’t connect, so i never connected using a VPN which means that post doesn’t apply.

Still getting the same error, i submited a ticket but haven’t got a reply yet.
