When I startup coldwar the game never fully boots up, it stays in the background running and the game never actually runs. I have Uninstalled / Installed everything twice now, Went through my Firewall, Updated my GPU to latest version + Updated my Computer to latest version… Tried running Coldwar on DirectX 11 and it didnt work, Game started having this issue early in the morning 5/19/2021 when a game update came out and havnt beenable to fix it since
I’m having the same problem as well. Technically for me, it happened last night when the game randomly crashed on me and then started a 34.77GB update. I let it finish and then went to bed. Come to play it tonight (5/19) and no bueno.
I’ve done the same as you as well, checking firewall, AV, DirectX11, updating Windows, etc.
Would be nice to see Blizzard/Activision working on this to fix this problem or at least give us something free because this seems to be affecting a lot of people.
This isn’t something Blizzard would work on due to the CoD games all belonging solely to Activision.
Blizzard’s only involvement is the store, installing and patching. Everything else would be handled by Activision. Their support forms can be found here.
I find that hard to believe given the issue is within the Battle.Net launcher itself. This was working just fine until the update that the game received recently and now the game itself doesn’t launch.
You indicate that Blizzards only involvement is the store, installing, and patching. Well, I am experiencing this problem after a 34.77GB update. And the way my game starts this update? It randomly crashes and then I go to try and launch again and see it updating.
At the very least, if this isn’t a Blizzard issue to deal with, Blizzard should be working with Activision to resolve this given Battle.Net is the delivery method for the game.
When it comes to starting the game, all the launcher does is call the game’s executable. If it’s doing that, then the launcher is working properly.
It’s only the game’s code that updates, not the launcher’s. So if the game stops working after an update, it’s the game that’s failing, not the launcher. And because the game wholly belongs to Activision, players need to contact them when it fails.
If the launcher is getting stuck while updating, that would be something Bliz would handle. But if an update completes and the launcher does call the executable, that’s where Bliz’s involvement ends no matter what happens after clicking the Play button.
Unfortunately, I don’t keep up with Activision’s support so I don’t know how they handle their communities. But, as far as wanting to see progress and being compensated, that’s feedback you want to leave on Activision’s forums.
I dont see how its the launchers fault because I COMPLETELY deleted Cold war + Battlenet off my computer, Zero files found… Redownloaded everything and it acts the same it did before I deleted the sh!t…
