After last update i have problem when i open the game from the button “play” from the battle.net desktop client. Talking with guildies lot of them have the same problem.
The first start of the game will take even 5minutes to open the game client, the subsequents open normally. (probably an issue with the auto login that battle.net does?!)
I think is a bug of battle.net client because if i open the game from the retail folder it works normally.
You forgot to say that this was for EU; that issue doesn’t seem to exist on NA.
Blizzard is/was investigating the issue (the last I heard from them) and, this morning (July 11), several players said that the issue appeared to be resolved. There is a rather long topic on the WoW forums with several posts from Blizzard – read about it here:
Whether the issue is/was with Battle.Net or not… we aren’t likely to ever find out – Blizzard is not in the habit of reporting the cause of such issues to players.
