Script Error while installing Diablo 2: Error: Object doesn't support property or method "keys"

I re-downloaded Diablo 2 and when attempting to install the Diablo 2 client I get a Script Error:

Line: 151
Char: 1
Error: Object doesn’t support property or method “keys”
Code: 0
URL: https://www.blizzard.com/en-us/store/downloaders/panes/d2.htm

It then asks if I want to continue running the script. Initially I ignored the error and proceeded to installing D2 and then after D2 LOD, but when I loaded the game and entered the main menu the graphics were all wonky and cutting in and out and letters were moving across the screen (super weird); completely unusable. So I figure its because of this script issue.

I since uninstalled and have tried to redownload and reinstall but have not been able to avoid the Script Error.

I tried following a fix guide that apparently worked for someone else with this issue (How to Fix “Script Error” An Error Has Occurred In The Script On This Page In Windows 11/10 PC - YouTube) , but the problem is I no longer have internet explorer cant find an actual internet explorer download for windows 10 that doesn’t magically turn to Microsoft Edge once I download it.

Sent a ticket into blizzard but just curious if anyone’s had this issue before or now what a fix may be. Didn’t find too much useful info on google.

Hi Clover,
Any resolution to this issue? I am having the exact same issue. Thanks in advance for any info.

The script errors on the old Diablo 2 installer are a known issue and expected currently. They will not affect the install process. You would just want to keep hitting the Yes button on the script pop-up, and the install will complete successfully.

The script errors also do not cause any problems in-game, so no need to worry about that. If you are having issues in-game though check out and try the steps here.
