Random Crashes in Game (WoW Classic)

In the last week, my wife and I have been experiencing random crashes in the game. No error messages or warnings, just kicked out. I ran WoW Classic from the command line and got these errors reported:

free(): invalid pointer
01dc:err:seh:call_stack_handlers invalid frame 0000000003B6DEC0 (0000000003972000-0000000003A70000)
01dc:err:seh:NtRaiseException Exception frame is not in stack limits => unable to dispatch exception.

021c:fixme:kernelbase:AppPolicyGetProcessTerminationMethod FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFA, 000000000011FD70

I am running WoW through Wine on Linux (version 8.0), but I know other Windows users who are also having similar issues. Hopefully this helps.

Hi,
I have exactly the same behavior with the same errors in syslog file.
I am using Vulkan 1.3 and dxvk 2.0
I think this error happens since the wine 8.0-rc2 new version. So i don’t think blizzard can help.

I get the same error but while playing Overwatch 2. Strangely enough, it’s so random that I can sometimes go an entire day without encountering the error.
