To the Development Team at Blizzard Entertainment,
As a passionate player and active member of the World of Warcraft community, I respectfully submit this proposal on behalf of countless fans who share a common vision: to see Azeroth evolve into a visually and technically modern experience through the adoption of Unreal Engine 5 for WoW Retail.
World of Warcraft has been a cornerstone of online gaming for over two decades. Its legacy is undeniable—but so is the need for a deep technical and graphical renewal. Unreal Engine 5 offers cutting-edge tools such as Nanite, Lumen, and World Partition, which could enable:
•
More immersive and detailed environments, without compromising PERFORMANCE.
•
Dynamic, realistic lighting, enhancing the atmosphere of every zone
•
Optimization for modern hardware, improving gameplay across current systems
•
Greater appeal to new players, who expect contemporary visual standards
We understand that migrating a complex MMO like WoW is no small feat. But Blizzard has always been a pioneer when it chooses to embrace the future. This proposal is not a critique of the current engine—it is a call to reimagine WoW’s potential and preserve its spirit for generations to come.
We respectfully request that Blizzard publicly evaluate the possibility of implementing Unreal Engine 5 in future expansions or as part of a long-term technical overhaul. The community stands ready to support, test, and collaborate if given the opportunity.
Azeroth deserves to shine like never before. And you have the talent to make it happen.
Sincerely,
Slayer Lantis

Where should I post to ask Blizzard to improve the game engine in WoW Retail?
My previous proposal was denied, but I still want to raise awareness. Performance during raids is getting worse, and now people even recommend hiding raid frames unless you’re playing a healer. This shouldn’t be necessary in 2025. Is there a specific forum or channel where Blizzard actually listens to technical feedback like this?
the Warcraft forums, as this is for the website api nothing to do with the game besides data
