Problem Installing Crash Bandicoot 4. Missing files

Hi I bought Crash Bandicoot 4 and installed the game. I got 2 error codes. One says file X3DAudio1_7.dll is missing and the other says that file XAPOFX1_5.dll is missing. The errors said that it may be fixed by reinstalling the game so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and I am still getting the same 2 error messages. Do you know how I can fix this problem?

Hi,

I think these 2 files are part of DirectX… do you meet the system requirements:

I’m pretty sure I meet the requirements. I do have Windows 11 and not 10 but hopefully that’s not the problem. I just built this PC a couple weeks ago. Has an AMD Ryzen 7, GeForce RTX 4080 and 32 GB RAM.

Hi…

Those 2 files are legacy DirectX files; install the “Microsoft DirectX® End-User Runtime” to get them. See: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 .

The Microsoft DirectX® End-User Runtime installs a number of runtime libraries from the legacy DirectX SDK for some games that use D3DX9, D3DX10, D3DX11, XAudio 2.7, XInput 1.3, XACT, and/or Managed DirectX 1.1. Note that this package does not modify the DirectX Runtime installed on your Windows OS in any way.

I hope this works for you.
