I had a incident where the wrong account was merged with my OW2 account and now it takes a whole year till I can connect the proper account. I think that 1 whole year is just absurdly long for a wait to connect another account. I just want to merge my proper account and not have to wait a entire year to do so. I have stats and cosmetics my actual account has that are no longer available in OW2.
