Periodic Input lag on MBP M1 Max

For about a month now, I’m getting this periodic input lag where my cursor moves fine, but my character seems to “continue” from the last input it seemed to receive through the network. Instead of stopping and not responding, it continues to do whatever that last received input was… like it was repeating.

So instead of just stopping and not moving, like if it recognized the connection was gone, as an example, my character will continue running in the direction it was running and stop responding to the mouse trying to change direction. If I wasn’t attacking, I can’t attack. Today it was following my mouse as though my “always move” key was activated. It wasn’t. I could use my secondary attack but not my primary. It’s EFFING frustrating and once it starts, I’m quick to die.

It’s happened on my MacBook Pro M1 Max, but I just replicated the issue on a MBP 16 6 core i7.

This has gotten bad enough that I’m finding myself not wanting to play because I don’t want to take my rare spare time at the moment and end up just frustrated.

Thanks for any help and/or insight.

Other things to note:

  1. I have been playing D3 since I beta tested it before it’s original release. I’ve played for thousands of hours, which is to only say I know the game well.
  2. I have NO other issues with input, mouse control, mouse button responsiveness, or keyboard buffering is ANY other program or game.
  3. The latency meter has been perfectly green and always under 100ms and usually under 50.
  4. My main volume has almost 200GB of free space.
  5. Having other programs running (or not) seems to have no impact on this issue.
  6. My internet connection is 1Gbps fiber and I constantly speedtest over my wifi at over 500Mbps. Best internet I’ve ever had and I’ve had it for a couple years now.
  7. Game has been deleted and reinstalled to no avail.
