Pending balance

For a company like this your shop is so bad.
why should i wait for it to be approved?

I DONT WAIT TO ADD MONEY OR TO BUY SOMETHING EVEN IN NEW WEBSITES OR ONLINE SHOPS.

What the hell is wrong with you?
You should ask STEAM or UBI or Microsoft how does their shops work. cus it looks like you didnt figure it out yet.

This is absolutely crazy, just experienced this today. What on earth are they playing at.

Anti fraud measures. It is sadly not “play”. The criminal groups that sell gold, items, services, etc. commonly steal the payment information (and game accounts) of their “customers”. They also buy stolen card info off the black market. That is all part of a multi billion dollar shady business of selling game currencies and services for real money. Against the terms of the games. The main rings are run out of the reach of US law.

To slow down use of stolen payment info, Blizzard waits until the funds are actually transferred to them before granting the player access to those funds for game use.

Online purchases have a couple steps that we never normally see as a customer:

  • Vendor submits card info for bank approval. This just checks that the card, or payment method, is valid and has available balance. Some vendors will grant access to goods and services at this point. IRL stores do, esp with proof of card in hand.
  • After approval the bank pulls the funds from the customer and holds them. Usually this status is called PENDING. It can be up to 72 business hours before those funds actually get transferred to the vendor. Normally faster, but legally they have 72 hours.
  • Bank does their batch transaction for the [time period] and those pending transactions are completed - the money is transferred to the end vendor.

Blizzard waits until the last step for many of their transactions. That gives banks or customers with stolen info time to stop it or contest it. That reduces instances of fraud.

I am not saying it is any fun to have to wait, but hopefully the explanation provides some clarity on how and why.
