I updated to OW2 on PS4 but I can’t open it without the OW1 disc. I thought since it’s gone F2P we wouldn’t need the game disc anymore so why can’t I open OW2 without the disc?

Yes I saw that. They must have done that because they probably don’t want people playing the original OverWatch 1 who has access to a copy of game. OverWatch 1 is essentially erased and it’s no longer available. Essentially if you have OverWatch 1 with a disc and it’s installed, the game OverWatch 2 would automatically be downloaded but would require the original OverWatch disc to play it. I assume you can fix this by uninstalling the game and reinstalling it directly from PlayStation store.

Is it a disc download still or did you delete the disc version and then download the digital f2p because if its still your disc copy of course it will need it
