I am trying to log into a old account which uses my fathers old physical authenticator and has his old sms number. I’ve tried replacing the battery with force, gotten the battery inside and everything, but the screen is dead, I’ve tried writing countless emails without much help in their response and have NO idea where to turn to now. Honestly I’m kinda stuck and don’t know what I can do but basically beg for blizzard to recognize my problem already.
What you want is the “Remove Authenticator” option. When you have access to the auth and/or phone on the account you can do it yourself. If you don’t it takes a ticket.
The physical authenticators were tamper resistant and trying to replace the battery would disable them, even if it did still work.
The only account you should be on is one in your name. If this is your account then you can put in a ticket to remove the authenticator from the account. They will ask you a series of questions about the account that you will need to answer to the best of your ability. If you can verify you are the account holder then they will remove the Auth and old phone number for you, assuming you don’t have access to it
You can send the ticket from an account you do have access to - just be very clear which account you want the Auth removed from! You can give them the email for the one you want it removed from.
Here is the Support Article for it. Remove Authenticator Get Help - Blizzard Support
