By bad what I mean is static, fuzziness, or just generally poor sound quality. I can only forward what others have described to me, as all self tests, including the one in the Blizzard App, sounds fine. Others are describing it as “yeah, its pretty bad. Static-y”, to the point that its seeming to be uncomfortable to listen to me talk. However, in Discord and with in-game voice chat systems my mic quality is crystal clear. It’s JUST the Blizzard App.
Here are some things that may be useful to know:
- I just built a new PC, and this was not an issue at all on the last PC. Same headset, same software, same drivers.
- I have two microphone input options, one that’s software controlled and one that just generic USB. Both are bad sounding, generic USB is worse.
- I’m using a Sennheiser PC373D, USB based with its own audio controller. No other option.
- I have tried changing the audio bit depth to a couple different Hz options, no change.
- I have tried a different USB port.
- I have tried reinstalling the Blizzard App and restarted PC.
Again, it’s important to note that this issue is ONLY within the Blizzard App voice chat system, and nothing else.
