The complete disregard from Blizzard is outstanding. I purchased MW2 today when the BattleNet client said “Available now”. Blizzard has taken my money but not given me access to the game, Blizzard are thieves. I have tried every workaround, reinstall MW2, reinstall battle net, clear battle net cache, log out and repeat all of the above after logging back in. The people working at Blizzard must be completely inept, that is the ONLY conclusion to take from this experience. There is no point using Blizzard for anything that can be acquired somewhere else, Steam in this case. Clearly, Blizzard does not care in the slightest about stealing from customers.

Same here i requested a support ticket 16 hours ago and not heard anything, refused refund becasue i played the campaign before it preloaded the full game and locked me out.
Ive appealed the refund refusal and if they dont allow if i’l just chargeback cba to mess around anymore i think there is a severe issue on there end that there not telling us

It says for me that this game cannot be installed yet, what does that mean?
I had these problems and have solved them!
first off for installing… I went to the web page for my account and downloaded the installer for mw2. That was able to download and install the game. When that completed I had the error “this game cannot be played yet” with the “Play” button greyed out.
At some point during setting up the installer, it asked me to install 2f auth with SMS so my mobile could accept codes, and that that was required for free online play. Not sure, but might be required for the game to launch… so I also followed some advice to install the authenticator app on my phone. Anyway…
I fixed the greyed out Play button by following all of the steps here:

Which are basically to set a virus scan exclusion for the MW folder, and to make sure both public and private netoworks were allowed through fw.
i use 4g internet and have set my internet as a metered connection- this might be part of the issue with public vs private etc.
I’m on the latest Nvidia drivers as of Oct 29 2022… and my windows 10 is current on updates.
after completing the detailed steps at that link, REBOOT and the play button will be working next time you use it.

update… it only worked once. Next reboot greyed out and nothing seems to work again
I’m ready to move on which is a shame as i was really enjoying the campaign mode, After trying what was said on here and requesting a support ticket thats never been answered ive started a chargeback to them.
Any fix for this? For some reason I started to get this bug just now, I was playing all fine and now out of nowhere I get the “This game cannot be played yet” thing
HI GUYS I HAVE FOUND A FIX!
Disconnect from internet, open battlenet and you should have it greyed out with instead of “This game cannot be played yet.” you should have “Please login to battlenet to play this game.”
Connect to your internet with battlenet open and it should then work!
