Mouse tracking problems

I did not find a topic on this.

For months, my BT mouse regularly becomes unusable due to extreme tracking stutter. D3 is installed on an external SSD. Stutter occurs even when no Blizzard app is running - but only when I plug in the external containing a Blizzard folder. Problem occurs whether or not Battle.net app is running. Problem does not occur when Blizzard folders are absent from the hard drive. Problem does not occur under other circumstances. To recap: I plug in the external containing a Blizzard folder; extreme mouse tracking stutter.

Sometimes it doesn’t, usually it does. When it does, the mouse is typically unusable. Restarting PC or Explorer seems to be a crapshoot.

HP Pavilion gaming laptop, Windows 10 Home 64-bit. Suggestions?

I believe this is a problem with interference on the USB ports, due to poor insulation between the electronics. I also experience an interference problem when my headset dongle (USB) is plugged into a port next to a USB drive that I’m writing data to. When you plug your drive into the laptop it starts checking with Bnet for updates, and is going to be in near-constant use.

Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do other than to move one of the devices to a USB hub to separate them.
