Low Level PvP is unplayable

As a WoW player since vanilla I wanted to bring fourth something that may help players stick around before retail dies (If it hasn’t already). I decided to log in and give shadowlands another shot. Logged into a low level character to experience the “Winds of Wisdom” xp buff. I enjoy PvP a lot and decided I wanted to level while doing RBG’s… huge mistake. The scaling for hunters and arcane mages and the ability to be level 60 and scale down is so unplayable. Because of that I logged out. I feel like there is such a big player base that enjoys pvp and can’t do so until max level which drives people away from enjoying the game. This has been an ongoing issue since item level scaling became a thing. I feel like there is and should be a way to nerf mages and hunters or to buff HP in bg’s to allow counter play. I hope this issue gets resolved (even though I think its a lost cause). Thanks.

I wouldn’t say it is an issue actually. Clearly the class counter for those sorts of specs, would be prot / arms warrior, sub / mut rogue, feral druid, ret paladin, enhance shaman, demo warlock, etc. You can’t always win with one spec alone. Find something you like playing, and utilize the advantages inherent to each class based on the situation / your surroundings. Sure the environment is different in a leveling BG, but here is some more information about why that is the case:

Summary
1.) You have to use class counters / learn about the weaknesses of the class you are fighting. Arcane Mages / MM hunters, don't have a ton of defenses as clothies / leather wearers, but they have some amount of ramp up time, and provide steady DPS ( fire mages have a ton of BURST DPS. )

2.) If you want to win in a BG, you have to use the correct spec and rotation / priority list as far as talents / abilities ( ie, a PVP build, or some sort of hybrid. ) Aside from twinks in heirloom gear, your team matters more than one individual alone. A really geared Arcane Mage in a leveling BG is usually just a glass cannon ( mostly wears high item level PVE gear, has no defenses, does a ton of damage at range, and that's it, etc. )

3.) Most players join the queue 2-3 levels near the cap for one particular PVP bracket.

4.) Item level scaling is actually a modifier that is entirely based on the gear you already have equipped ( so if you increase the item level, scaling also is applied to the base stats of that one particular item. ) Items only provide raw stats. Character level, talent / spec choice, rotation, is more important than raw stats alone. Avoid min / maxing, especially with gems or a specific arrangement of gear ( you have to use stat weights for primary / secondary stats, and not select only one stat alone as the primary indicator of performance / quality in an item. ) Item level scaling is ONLY attributable to the gear you have equipped.

5.) If you don't have heirlooms, you have to use gear you get from PVP vendors in Gadgetzan / Stormwind / Orgrimmar ( or at the quartermasters, ) as well as gear from dungeons every x amount of levels.

NOTE: Once you reach the cap on at least one player, to acquire heirlooms, for the first few levels you should use pvp tokens / badges, or another thing from a world event to upgrade them. The last one or two levels you should use gold ( with a rep discount from the vendor in org / undercity. ) Pick sets that have enough overlap with as many classes as possible, so that you don't waste your money.
