Your launcher refuses to let me install anything.
If it isnt crashing before even installing or is stuck on “install” after confirming the installation path, it is stuck at 0b/s.
When you google any of these problems on the internet and try every solution anyone ever recommends doing until page 3 of google, i tried them all.
change network settings
reinstall bnet
starting with admin rights
ending agent and restarting as admin
starting safe mode with networking
using 3rd party programs to clean uninstall bnet and registry etc.
turning off windows defender and firewall
using different paths of install destinations
restarting computer after each uninstall / install
changing download settings in bnet including adding beyond high limit for DL speed
using vpn to download from idk how many countries around the world
create admin account
turned on “second logon”
probably more i forgot.
like damn, what a mess
ON TOP OF ALL THAT: i can only speed through the bnet installation because if i choose a different path, it crashes and if i wait to long it crashes too. what?
These problems are usually caused by the permission structure in Windows being badly damaged by Windows updates (yep, it’s annoying), other apps, or security suites (Avast/AVG/Malwarebytes).
You can try this:
Open a cmd shell as Admin. Then type the following:
net stop winmgmt
winmgmt /resetrepository
net start winmgmt
Beyond that, reinstalling Windows usually fixes things.
how exactly does this involve only bnet and nothing else i ever tried to download / install ever. like ever. in any way shape or form? what access does bnet wants on my computer that no other program in the world (apparently) wants?
I am having the same problem. First it would not install any update to any game I have installed. I reset router. I have had 0 updates to any software other than Battle.net in the past 24 hours since I was logged into WOW. I have uninstalled the launcher and have tried to reinstall but its stuck at 45%. I have reset and restarted everything. If you are saying I have to reinstall WINDOWS to play… Ill quit, and be asking for my money back for a game I cannot play
Same problem here. I have tried all the suggested remedies, turned off antivirus and firewall and tried to update. No dice, another computer in the home has updated just fine. There is no way that a reinstall of windows should be required to make this work.
Beyond that, reinstalling Windows usually fixes things.
This is not a solution. I’m not here to shoot the messenger, but I’ve had this issue for weeks and it is unresolved. Tech team needs to address this issue if they want to “update a lot”
I am facing the same nonsense. I was playing a lot on the weekend. Closed wow to go for dinner and when i came back, Bnet couldn’t do the update download which prevented me from being able to log in.
I have spent so many hours trying literally everything that anyone has suggested on the forums (funny that the players were far more helpful than the limited suggestions from blizzard…).
I don’t know what to do now… this stupid Bnet agent seems to be the problem. It keeps asking for permission and once i accidentally clicked no. I reinstalled the app many times and i run it as administrator, so permission wise, i guess it should be fine?
Really annoyed at this point and i have no idea how to solve it
I’m sitting with the same issue, and am quite baffled by the fact that i CAN download over mobile hotspot, but not my stable ethernet fibre cable? I’m not experiencing this with any other type of service (Steam, Ubisoft, work apps, Teams etc.). I’ve reached out to my ISP, and will post here if/what they can do. I had also logged a ticket with Blizzard but the response was useless and copy/paste template as always.
21/08 - Update
I’ve spoken to my ISP and they’ve provided me with a new router which I picked up. Plugged it in and the download immediately started. not sure what the reason for this is, might be that some routers are outdated and can’t handle battle.net traffic (bit of an odd ball…)
