As title says. The launcher is just… Blank.
For games that I have installed or purchased, the play/install button still displays. I can play/install those games normally. Weirdly enough, Hearthstone’s play/install button is totally gone. And I know I have played Hearthstone before.
The games I haven’t bought, it’s empty. No button or anything. Just the background picture.
Pictures of aforementioned issue:
Overwatch, ready to play but no news or anything:

Warcraft III Reforged, a game I haven’t bought or installed. Literally nothing is there.:

I have attempted to resolve this by clearing Blizzard files and folders from the %APPDATA% folder. No such luck there.
Kind of a minor issue since I can still play my games anyway, but still, it’s an eyesore. Any insight or help would be appreciated.
Hey there,
Do you have any security software installed? I have seen a few services with “real time shields” that will block the news feed. Disabling this software, or temporarily uninstalling it, as a test might be a good thing to do.
You can also try going into the Blizzard app’s settings menu and changing “Disable browser hardware acceleration” to a different setting.
Let me know if either of these works for you.
I apologize for the slow response.
I don’t actually run any security software outside of the Windows Defender thing that Windows 10 comes with. So it’s probably not that. But I will look into it.
Turning the Disable browser hardware acceleration
off didn’t do anything, nor did turning it back on. So that’s out I guess?
EDIT:
I also checked the Windows Defender firewall in case it for whatever reason didn’t allow Battle net. It did have a couple Blizzard Agent entries unchecked, checked those and restarted Battle net. No change. So it’s not that either?
EDIT2: Interestingly enough… I was poking around the settings for the Battle net launcher, and it crashed out when I tried to access the streaming settings. Did it again when I tried it again. Not sure if relevant but it is what it is.
Hey, CursedShadow! Apologies for the delay! Could you try testing if Run as Admin helps with the Blizzard Application?
By chance, when you were clearing the %APPDATA% were other locations checked and a full reinstall done? If not, let’s go ahead and try this.
- Uninstall the application
- Press Windows key + R and type in %temp%
- Delete anything related to Blizzard or Battle.net
- Do the same for %programdata%, %localappdata%, %appdata%
- Reinstall the application!
Lastly, I’m curious to if the Blizzard Application and news section shows up properly on a New Admin account. This resets a ton of settings, registries, as it creates a new user profile. If this works, there may be some issues within settings with defender or registries that’s causing the news issue.
If these steps here fail, this is likely the router firewall or out dated drivers/operating system. Let’s grab DxDiag files if the display issue continues. Copy and paste the text file created and paste it between two ~~~ like so:
