Issue reinstalling app

Been having a problem installing app for a few months now. i have tried all troubleshooting options with no luck. when i go to install it, even from the beginning it just says updating blizzard agent and bounces from 50-80% and doesn’t finish. any tips? id like to possibly send my logs in? this has been happening since December.

Hey there insomnia,

Thanks for reaching out! Getting stuck on that “Updating Blizzard Agent” status is certainly irritating and typically indicates that something is conflicting with the Blizzard Agent. This can be caused by things such as an outdated or particularly invasive anti-virus program, a problem with the Windows installation, or a network-related issue. My first suggestion would be to test an alternate network, and then retest.

If you’re able to finish the installation when using an alternate network, that tells us the issue is isolated to the network that you are currently using. If this is the case, ultimately we can only recommend contacting the ISP for assistance determining what is causing the issue to occur on the home network. They may adjust specific security/firewall settings on your modem or temporarily replace the device to narrow it down further. Keep in mind that you can request to speak with a “level 2 or level 3 technician” when contacting the ISP, as the front-line representatives typically only have access to basic diagnostics and troubleshooting tools.

On the other hand if you continue to experience this “Updating Blizzard Agent” status while using an alternate network, there are some additional steps that I highly recommend trying on our “Downloading New Files” support article which can be used to help narrow this down further, and hopefully solve it for good!

I hope this helps! Let us know if you continue to experience issues.

I have tried these with no luck still.

Bro , try to delete all battle.net and icon from computer than close an action in progres. Restart ur computer, after that turn off Antivirus and Try to reintal Battle.net app

insomnia,

If you’re still having problems after all that, we’ll probably need some files that we don’t typically request over the forums for privacy reasons. Let’s have you put in a ticket and make sure to attach your system files. Usually we don’t need battle.net logs for this kind of thing, and can find a problem using just the files.
