The primary goal is to build the player base. More players = more attention = more sales
I truly believe with these changes hearthstone could become the most played mobile game for years to come.
Step 1: Make a free to play arena mode with little or no prizes.
Step 2: Make it easy and simple to play against friends or those within vicinity of each other (including modes like the free arena).
Step 3: Make a test mode where players have access to all cards and can test a deck against an AI with an assigned deck or a friend before crafting the deck for real modes.
I’ve been playing hearthstone since it first came out and have been coming back for years on and off. My biggest pushes away from the game have been the limitations on playing what I love due to the combination of costs and time commitment needed to play. It’s unreasonable and unsustainable. I’m certain if I could play continuously without constantly having to dump money into it I’d probably end up spending more in the long term because it’s my choice to rather than feel like I’m being forced to.
