The email associated with my friend’s account has been changed.
His account is not linked to a mobile phone.
Just a mail tell him the email.has been changed.
What does he need to do to retrieve his account

The e-mail associated with a BNet account does not change on its own… so, if your friend didn’t do it himself, his account got hacked.
Your friend will need to contact Blizzard Support (either logged in a new, temporary, account or not logged in)… see this Support article:
He should also start trying to figure out how his account e-mail got changed – he will need to get a new e-mail, one not attached to any Battle.Net account, for when Blizzard retrieves his old account.
