So I have SC remastered and for the last month when I launch the game from the blizzard launcher the game opens but keeps minimizing itself with the starting screen sound playing!!! Every time I try to re-open the game it does for 2 seconds then does it again!!! It won’t let me play the game at all. What’s going on here??? It was doing this off and on for a while but now I’m fully locked out.
On a side note this stated about the same time that my windows edge and chrome app suddenly started shrinking the open window from the full screen down to 70% of the screen when it was fully on my screen. With both being fully maximized and they previously were full.
Try running StarCraft in compatibility mode. Right-click on the StarCraft shortcut or executable, go to Properties, then Compatibility tab, and check “Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select an earlier version of Windows like Windows 7 or Windows 8. Apply the changes and try launching the game again. If the issue persists, try launching the game in windowed mode instead of fullscreen. You can usually adjust this setting within the game’s options menu or by editing the game’s configuration files. Check the zoom level of your browsers. Sometimes, browsers may remember the zoom level for specific websites, causing them to open at a reduced size. Try resetting the zoom level to 100% by pressing “Ctrl + 0” in both Edge and Chrome.
Thank you, however I have windows 10. I tried both suggestions and it has not worked. Thanks for the ideas.
If you are running out of RAM or pagefile space (need 15–20% free on an SSD), Windows will take control and minimize apps using a lot of those resources. Antivirus apps are also guilty of doing this.
