Forgot Password/Disable Authenticator loop

This is ridiculous. I don’t know who designed this but they need to be reprimanded.

I forgot my password.

I tell battle.net I forgot my password.

I am prompted to confirm my authenticator code to change it.

I do not have an authenticator.

I click to remove my authenticator.

I cannot remove my authenticator without logging in with my password.

I cannot log in with my password as I do not have it, and you won’t let me reset it because I do not have an authenticator, and you do not provide an option to reset it via SMS or security questions, because you think I have an authenticator, which you won’t let me remove.

How did someone design this and it get approved?

Luckily if you go to the SUPPORT site and click any of these options, it lets you get access via SMS. So I managed to reset the password. But why on earth is this not possible when resetting your password on the main website?
