I wanted to gift the Prime Evil Collection to my girlfriend so she can get D2 + Necro + RoS since she only had D3, but no can’t gift it… Try to buy the complete pack from her account, complete pack changed to upgrade pack which is way more expansive.
So, yeah, only way to do it is to create a new account… Bravo!
Seems like Blizzard just does’t care about it since last time was identical as I can read above and the issue is still present. Looks like they prefer people having multiple accounts (higher numbers, better for shareholders) instead of putting some real discount for ACTUAL players.
Blizzard would you mind correcting this issue please? Please put an actual discount on the upgrade pack.
Update here:
GM deleted my D3 upon my request. Took a day to disappear from my account, but afterwards I was able to buy the Prime Evil Collection at sale price.
I only had original D3 - and they advised I would lose all content from it. I didn’t care though, because I hadn’t played in forever and wanted a fresh start. Might be a decent solution for anyone in my situation wanting a fresh start.

Good for you. But that is not a good solution for everybody. I think players deserve better than having to remove a game from their account so they can buy the complete pack with the current discount.
Think about it. You open a ticket to remove your current game. An agent communicate with you about the matters and probably that agent must go through programers to get this done. So Blizzard ends up paying employees so you can buy the game again (with the discount). There is no logic in that. Wouldn’t it be better to just offer the discount? Transactions will keep flowing in instead of having to contact support and go though all of this?
That’s just my opinion. And I am pretty sure that my girlfriend would NOT like to have her game deleted just to get the whole pack. She will prefer to pass and not buy anything. And she is probably not alone.
Well. With the sale now on, I can get the full Prime Evil pack for £29.99 or the upgrade (I already own all D3) for, drum roll please… dddddrrrrrrrrrrrrr… £42.99. Go figure! No sale price for the upgrade!
I have the same problem and submit a ticket, they responded that I can purchase the upgrade pack anyway and they will add the difference to the account balance. just did that and waiting for the balance to show up, though it still suck they can’t just make discount available for upgrades. remind me next time not to get buy their base game til all DLC are released, this wasn’t the first time i get to pay much more for going head in early.
Bet Blizzard lost a lot of sales due to this stupid pricing of theirs. I for one didnt bother to buy because of it
I see the incorrect price for cosmetics on the PS5 Playstation Store. I already have D2R and the price is not adjusted.
A year and a half later and there still seems to be issues with this. According to what everyone has said here, the upgrade should cost $10 if you own everything else. Mine is showing at $16.49 on PSN, while having payed for D2R a year and a half ago and D3 eternal collection today. Either there is still a bug in the system or the discount was not as everyone thought it was. Wouldn’t mind some cosmetics for D3, as it’s been almost 10 years since I’ve played it, but I’m not paying that much for something so insignificant.
