Diablo 2 LoD won't run - critical error

When I try to run the game I get this error:

“this application has encountered a critical error: not enough memory resources available to process this command.
Program: C:\Gry\Diablo II\Game.exe
File: .\SOURCE\SFILE.CPP
Line: 1411”

No compatability settings help, I have tried every single combination.

I’m on windows 10 v.1903
AMD Ryzen 5 2400G
16GB DDR4
512 GB m.2 + 1TB SSHD

The funny thing is, when I install the game from an ISO (I borrowed my friends key, he fortunately kept his cd-cases up till today) the game works perfectly!

Howdy!

This sounds like a permission issue or block. Could you try manually installing the games from disc, then patch up using our manual patch Here. Note: If you installed Diablo II and Lords of Destruction just use the Lords of Destruction patch.

When you first run the game right click on the Diablo shortcut and select: Run As Administrator, if this works then connect to Battle.net. See if that changes the issue.
