Diablo 2 battle net is not responding

So basically the story is, I got Diablo 2, on Disk, years ago, would have been the third time. Anyways my Hard drive failed, I have a copy of hte exact same files from the hard drive, but ever since then it started off that I could not update Diablo 2, then it no longer connected, Now i have manually patched, my Diablo 2, the same, via the recent patch noted by Blizzard, now i simply Battle net is not responding OR You have been Disconnected from Battle net. I have not played Battle.net Diablo 2, in roughly 3-4 years,outside of buying it once again, even tho my original CD is and everything is in the files, wich I cannot acess myself, and should show I am a legal owner, for the third time to work. I dont know why it doesnt. This is just me wondering if at all even after all these years if its a problem that could be fixed somehow.

I AM ON WINDOWS 7 if it matters.

If you are using the old 16 digit keys from your CDs, you need to redeem them for the new 26 digit keys for Battle.net access.

Go up to your name in the upper right of this page and click on it…then, Account Settings.

Type your 16 digit keys into the box…REDEEM A CODE.

If it says they have been ‘claimed’ then you must buy that game again. Buy the digital version here from Blizzard (not another CD.)

If you are successful at claiming your keys and you have both D2/LOD 26 digit keys, then…

Uninstall your CD version of Diablo 2/LOD. Then, download the digital installers and use the new 26 digit keys.
