Every time i use the desktop shortcut for world of warcraft(any version) i get a message taht says my shortcut is calling an older version of the bnet app. It loads the app anyway, but it is kind of annoying. i have already deleted it mutiple time, and created new ones from the bnet app, but it continues to give the same message.

This sounds similar to the issue in another thread in Desktop App Tech Support - you can search for it by terms along the lines of “we’ve detected a newer version of battlenet” (without the quotes). See if it what I quoted in my post on said thread does the trick for you.
