Connecting to the Fastest server

Hello there.

Long time player of this game I decided to rejoin the game. I was playing Diablo 2 LoD for about 2 weeks. Now all of a sudden I cannot seem to join battle.net on any realm? Can anyone tell me why and what the problem is?

I have heard thing like leaving games for a fast period of time could be the reason for my unable to connect. I seem to be stuck on Connecting to the Fastest Server for a long time until it just says unable to connect. I have been reading through and it is possible that I received an IP ban for whatever reason?! If so can someone tell me if this is permanent or temporary. Any advice would be great

The problem is this is happening for me on all realms and i don’t even get as far as checking versions. Ive reinstalled but that had no effect at all.
