I made a post on reddit about this problem two years ago.
I played SC2 on my laptop for years. I moved cities, and I bought a gaming PC. Importantly I bought this pc USED from a stranger. I wiped it and reinstalled windows.
My old account was banned as soon as I installed SC2 on my new computer. I could not figure out what was going on, and gave up trying to resolve it. This was two years ago.
Lately, I’ve been wanting to play SC2 again, but every time I make a new account, it gets banned either before launching, or after 1 AI game.
I play no other Blizzard games, and have done nothing to warrant a ban. I havent been able to do anything at all.
I was wondering if a ban can be associated with an actual computer itself? The only thing I can think of here. My original account was banned after I tried installing on this machine. I bought this PC used from a kid who was seemed like the gamer type. I did a clean install of windows of course, but could there be some lingering identifier with the machine? What if the previous owner was a terrible person on blizzard or something.
Could a perma banned be associated with an internet connection? I did move to this new house at the same time as getting a new machine. But I got my own new router and setup my own internet, and dont share the network with anyone. Would my IP be the same as the previous tenants? What if they were terrible people on blizzard.
I just wanna play SC2, but its impossible
