Competitive Suspension Bug After Custom Game Queue

I’m having an issue where I get penalized for leaving a Competitive match even though I never actually disconnect or intentionally leave.

The bug happens when I create or enter a Custom Game while searching for a Competitive match. When the Competitive match is found, it lets me go through the map vote and hero bans. However, after I select the hero bans, the game does not load me into the match. Instead, it eventually says the server failed to connect, kicks me out, and then gives me a Competitive suspension/ban.

This has happened even though I was still online and never manually left the match. It seems like the game fails to transfer me from the Custom Game into the Competitive server properly, but I still get punished as if I disconnected.

Could you please look into this issue and remove the Competitive penalty if possible? I’d also appreciate if this could be reported as a bug, since it can unfairly suspend players who never actually left the game.

Thank you.

Hello there! You seem to have taken a wrong turn at the corner of the internet somewhere.

This forum is for bugs with the Battlenet app on mobile phones.

If you have an issue with a specific game, you need to post on the forums for that game.

For bugs, post in the Bug Report forum to report to QA. They won’t answer, but that files it properly. If you just want to provide feedback about game systems and functions, you would post on the Discussion forums where Community Managers collect feedback for the game team.

FYI - Customer Support has no say at all in in-game systems or penalties related to those systems. They can not remove the Competitive penalty from your account.

I am going to guess you wanted the Overwatch forums.
