COD MW is installed but BattleNet can't locate it

Hi all, so the background first.

I heard that the last patch of COD MW was massive so I opened my BN to update it and found that it didn’t recognize any installed game. I searched for some through the settings and found SC, SCII and Diablo III, which are all installed in a folder called “…/Games/Blizzard/…”. COD MW which is installed on “…/Juegos/Blizzard/…” (not sure why) and it didn’t find it automatically.

I tried searching for it manually with “Locate Game” but when I choose the folder it gives me the following error: “This folder doesn’t contain the correct version of this game. Please check the installation path and try again. More help: BLZBNTAGT00000AF0”.

The only thing I recall doing recently that might have generated all these issues was to remove the Overwatch and WoW folders from “…/Games/Blizzard/…”. I didn’t uninstall them, I cut the folders and copied them to my external harddrive to release some space but keep them (since BN seems to be able to deal with cut and copied game folders). However, I didn’t touch the COD folders.

Any ideas, has anyone seen this before? I would hate to have to download all of COD again.

Thanks.

Hi, I had silimar issue:

my problem was that it could not even locate game files. Of course locate/scan game files was not working. What worked for me is - i’ve actually had a desktop shortcut for ColdWar that was leading to nowhere. I’ve pointed the shortcut on my desktop to the external drive where the game lanucher was and it detected that game is ready to be played.

Maybe that helps, other ghing i would suggest is deleting the shortcut itself.

Hope this helps someone.
