Client running in 32 bit

Recently I bought a new PC with much higher specs than my last, and before swapping I put all my games and other files I wanted to keep on an external hard drive, including battle.net so I could easily play as soon as it was set up. My old pc for some reason had the client installed as 32 bit but worked perfectly fine apart from fps issues mainly due to my hardware, hence the new pc.
I noticed loads more crashing with the games I play on battle.net compared to other titles on steam and while checking task manager I saw that next to battlenet, 32 bit was written next to it. I uninstalled battle.net fully and removed all the games and downloaded the client from this website again but when it installed it still tells me the app is running in 32 bit. How can I get the app to run in 64 bit?

left click on start, type regedit, click on the program
Look for a folder called HKEY_CURRENT_USER and open it
look for the blizzard folder then the battle.net folder
once you find the folder look into the AUKS file and hit the value labeled LAUNCH_64BIT and modify its value to say true instead of false as this will help your problem.
