CE Purchase: Dissatisfied with Blizzard Gear store

I realize this forum is for the battle.net shop but I see no where else to leave feedback for the gear store so this seemed like the best place.

I pre-ordered the collector’s edition of the War Within last night from the gear store. As I was checking out, I noticed there was some $5 package insurance and I wanted to get it just to be safe because the postal service in my state has been extremely screwy lately.

However, when I paid I let google autofill my information and accidentally used an expired card (just got a new one) because I wasn’t thinking. As the payment was trying to go through, I immediately realized what I’d done so when the payment failed and the page refreshed I just autofilled the info with my new card and ordered. Immediately after placing the order I realized that the total was different and that, for some reason, the package insurance had been removed from my cart.

I thought “okay, no big deal, I’ll just cancel the order and reorder with the insurance.” Only to discover there is no way to just cancel an order on the gear store. So I immediately contacted support and since it was late, i had to use chat. After giving the chat bot my information and waiting to talk to an actual person the person instantly gave me a copy/paste response that said they’d forward it to a colleague in the US to help me and I’d hear from them by email.

Which is where I am now. I got the email and, even though I immediately contacted support to try to cancel my order, they tell me it’s apparently too late.

I’ve never had any problems with any form of Blizzard customer service and in fact they’ve went above and beyond for me a couple times in the past. At the end of the day, it’s not that big of a deal and I realize I should have checked my cart after the page refreshed but it is still frustrating. I guess I’m going to order another one with the insurance just to be safe then return one when they arrive.

TL,DR: Why would a page refresh alter my cart? Why does the gear store not have a way to manually cancel an order before it’s shipped like almost every other online store? And why is it supposedly too late to cancel even though it hasn’t shipped yet?
