I came back to play Starcraft Brood War again after a long hiatus. I updated the game, and when I go to launch, nothing happens for 5 minutes. When I finally see its icon on the task bar, I click it, and the game immediately closes. I already tried setting the StarCraft.exe file to run as admin. I also scanned for missing/bad files, but it said everything is fine.
EDIT: one more detail that I’m curious about…when I hover the mouse over my StarCraft.exe file, the file description says “StarCraft: Remastered”, even though I have the free classic version. Did the update mess with something?
EDIT 2: Well, in response to the crickets, I’m going to re install the game and see if that fixes things.
