Can't Login on the App (even though my password is correct)

I played Overwatch over the weekend with no issues, but I started up my PC to play for a few hours tonight and I can’t login because it won’t accept my password. Weird, I haven’t changed my password in years…but whatever, I’ll reset it I guess.

So I went to the web and found I could login to the Blizzard website just fine (hmm…) and reset my password to something new. I go back to the app with my new password in hand, only to hit the same exact issue. Okay, I’ll try opening the app without logging in and then just log into Overwatch directly. That almost worked, but then that led me to an endless wait time of “connecting” on the Overwatch main screen. I gave it about 10 minutes before giving up.

I am POSITIVE that my password is correct (and for that matter I’m positive the old one was accurate too), but it just will not log me into the app for some reason. I keep running into the verification puzzle, putting in the password, and being sent right back to more puzzles. If I have to rotate another shoe or doghouse in a fruitless attempt to get a little virtual dopamine I swear I’m going to go insane.

I haven’t seen an error code of any kind to look into further, maybe I’m just blind though?? I was never asked to use the authenticator except when I actually changed my password. I sure wish it would help me log into the app…

So…yea…I’m a bit frustrated and any feedback would be appreciated ;-;

Is it possible the connection you’re using has the game blocked?
Are you using a new antivirus suite or one that was recently updated?
Can you change your DNS?
Are you using a VPN? Or can you try another connection/VPN?
Do you use privacy addons for your web browser? Some of these block the verification system.

Windows or Mac ?

If Mac, did you recently update to Mac OS 15.0 Sequoia ?

Sorry for disappearing, haven’t really had time to sit down and play anything since I posted this. Tried again today, hoping the problem was gone, but alas, no, I still cannot log in. I triple checked, and caps lock is not the issue here :confused:

I do appreciate the help though, I hadn’t considered capslock to be a potential solution.

ETA: Apparently I can’t make more than one response atm but I looked at Nicole’s list:

-I doubt the connection is an issue. AFAIK nothing about my connection has changed, unless they do that on their own(?)
-I have not downloaded any new or updated any old antivirus AFAIR (I don’t get to play as often as I used to, haha)
-DNS? Possibly…I admit I don’t know how to do that or why it might have changed in the first place.
-I do not use a VPN (maybe I should? lol)
-I don’t have any privacy addons for my browser, again, unless some gremlins have been installing them

Still stumped, but I appreciate the help from both of you. If you have anything else please do let me know. I’ll be looking into that DNS thing in the meanwhile.

ETA again: Okay, so I cleared the cache (a suggestion found elsewhere) and ran into the same problem again; I tried to make an alt account and I couldn’t even log into that brand new one!

What did the trick? Uninstalling and then re-installing. I feel sooooooo dumb rn, but I’m glad that everything resolved itself. Thanks everyone for their suggestions and help.
