Can't Add Phone Number

I’ve been trying to get support for this issue for over half a year now and I still haven’t received any assistance.

I’ve been trying to add my phone number to my account but it keeps telling me to add a post-paid number.

My number has never been used and it isn’t a VOIP or pre-paid number. I’ve done every variation of the number possible. +1, no +, dashes, no dashes, spaces, no spaces, my country is the same as my number, and still the same error.

I’m at my wit’s end. There’s no live channel, there’s no response to my ticket and I can’t play anything that requires my number.

What can I do?

I am on the same boat like you man. Am on a 24 month plan with EE (UK). I enter the phone number and says please enter a post-paid phone number.
In my case, I bought that SIM card with the number when I was on a PAYG (Pay As You Go).
Am not really sure if that’s the issue for me, but it could be for you. Hope we find a solution by ourselves because Blizz employees are probably flooded with messages. What else can I say…

I can’t access my old phone number, and have never given Blizzard any of my personal IDs. Do I have to give them that stuff now to change it?

I am having the same issue and is very frustrating. No option to send the code to email either. SMH.

Hi, I have the same problem as you. I already sent a ticket, but they didn’t respond to me in 2 days.

I’m from Brazil, but like you I don’t have the old number to verify the account. If you can, send it here so we can help in some way.

Your best bet is to create a blizzard ticket and explain your issue. They probably have access to delete your old phone number- change the country code so you can start fresh. Good luck.

Ive read the trouble shoot and done every thing to get it to connect but it doesn’t stop saying that i need to enter a post-paid phone number. which it is so i msg customer support and they said they wont help me till a live chat on Monday by then the mw2 beta will be over so maybe someone can give me some advice here so i can get online…i have no problem loading into warzone and vanguard without a phone number why do i need that for the mw2 beta

This forum is for community based troubleshooting of technical issues specific to the Blizzard Desktop Application. Account issues like adding/removing SMS phone information cannot be addressed here on the forums, you would need to use the support button at the top of the page, then contact support to create a ticket.

Please note however that queue times are extremely high right now with the recent launch of Overwatch 2. So it will be several days or so.

Make sure when submitting the ticket you include the following information:

Carrier/Provider of service:
The Phone number to be removed/added:
A picture or screenshot of a phonebill for that number showing both your name and the phone number in question. If you wish to blackout other personal information, do so physically on the printed bill, do not use photo editing software to do so.
