Today, I had trouble with updating CoD:MW. I would get error BLZBNTAGT00000BB8 when trying to update the game. I tried Scan and Repair, but I got the same error. When I uninstalled CoD:MW and tried to reinstall it, I got the same error as well.
I tried all the recommended solutions in the guide for error BLZBNTAGT00000BB, but none of them worked, unfortunately. I’ve also tried running Battle.net as an administrator and uninstalling/reinstalling Battle.net, but neither of those has worked either.

Usually when you have an install issue this stubborn that causes both patching and reinstalling problems, it’s because of something blocking us from accessing your harddrive. Try updating your antivirus and temporarily uninstalling it if that fails if you use a third party antivirus (Norton, McAfee, AVG, etc). Windows Defender is fine and you don’t need to attempt to uninstall that.
If that doesn’t work, it may actually be a registry problem. Even if you’re on an administrator account, the registry of your account can sometimes get messed up by things like viruses, security programs, or even just a bad windows update. Let’s try creating a new admin and trying there. If it works on the new admin, it means the old account is broken. Easy fix - just move your files over and delete the old account.
If you’re still having this problem after both of these steps, please create a WinMTR test which catches a disconnection. Since this is a patch issue, instead of using the IP address from the article, use this for your “Host”:
us.patch.battle.net
You want to restart the test every 10-15 minutes while patching until you catch one of these errors. Once you’ve caught one red handed, run the test for about 5 more minutes. This will let us look for problems between your house and our servers which may cause this.
