Tried the VPN option Betternet does work for me windscribe dit not , its a disgrace that people need to get a vpn to try and get the update to work for them!
Did not have this problem until the last few patches and I did not change anything. the only thing that works is spamming pause and play.
Did you try with better net? dont forget to close down the entire launcher first, install the software, set your region inside the VPN program to US, and only then launch Blizzard net, set region to americas. Currently downloading at 10Mb/s.
I tested a few free, none were as efficient as this. Thanks mate

Give it a few mins buddy, mine has ramped up to 14mb/s after like 5-10 mins

Download a VPN. I’m using Proton VPN, it’s free to use. Set my location to LA, and I’m downloading at 20mbps after switching to Americas on Battlenet.

If it keeps kicking you off the Blizzard server I would say that you need to do a winsock reset
- Click on the Start button then Programs->Accessories and click on Command Prompt.
- Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter keyboard shortcut to run Command Prompt as Administrator.
- Type netsh winsock reset then press Enter.
- Type ipconfig /release then press Enter.
- Type ipconfig /renew then press Enter.

classic blizzard again. Was like this in vanilla WoW patchdays…. and it still is a million years later. Move game to other platform plz
ok so I figured if I changed the region to US, since at my time (europe-3pm) america would be at low gaming hours (6am -9am) I could download faster. So use VPN to connect to a server where the players wouldn’t be online at that time. Blizzard wouldn’t throttle the Internet there and you could download at normal speed(minus Vpn lag).
I still find it dumb what they do with their server connections. no other game or launcher does that.
SOLUTION! Just chance your region to ASIA. It helped me and now download speed is normal. You may have to repeat or log out when you do this.

i don’t understand why only blizard/activision have this problem. each other game launcher (steam, epic, uplay, …) is working normally and download updates in a acceptable speed.
When it’s bad to download because of an overload why you enforce an 13 gigabyte update?

Enable battle net client P2P downloads for updates ffs! These updates are completely a pain in the a**… I completely understand that you have no infrastructure to support such huge amount of players updating at the same time, which would be already solved with P2P…

the problem is not from the clients, the problem is from hoster and download server, there are download queue. start download, after 1 sek stop it, then start it again. you will download 1sek with the speed of your inet. after 1 sek the download server will throttle your speed! see the problem is only from server!
This is total BS. Every time there is an update people come here to complain about it and yet nothing is being done. Now I remember why i haven’t bought any COD games since the original MW2… and why i will never again buy one.
