Call of Duty Modern Warfare - Slow or Stuck Downloads

So you play the game on another account?

I can download the game only if I set a max download speed to 12000KB/s.
If i remove the limit battlenet client throw an error.

Yes exactly. As long as I won’t log onto account that have the original Modern Warfare bought everything works great

For me this helped:

  1. Click the gear icon next to pause button on the update screen and choose settings
  2. Scroll all the way down to Future patch data and put it to 0 KB/s
  3. Done

Note: Before trying this I reinstalled Battle Launcher, I don’t know if this is necessary.

Just change client to Beta-Version in the settings.
Before my download canceled every 10 sec at 500 kB/s,
now consistantly downloading w/ 11MB/s (EU)

I will try this, now it’s impossible to download it.
edit: didn’t help, only switching region help a little, at least download is constant but at a low speed

For me that solved the situation:

  • Change to beta version and after restart de application (but it will does automatically)
  • I switched to America from Europe (Hungary with Gigabit internet)
  • And according to Joey’s post change the Future pack data to 0KB/s

It seems working after days of trying to play the game that i bought before…
I don’t know why it’s important to use their own bad applications to manage things around their games. For example uPlay and this one. Steam and Origin are way better than these.

Hey y’all,

As a result of increased network demand on the internet at large, we’ve seen an impact on players’ download speeds when trying to install or update their games. We continue to monitor and adjust elements within our control to get these downloads to you as quickly as possible, while also working in a space with ever-increasing demand for bandwidth across the internet at large.

In an effort to maintain service and internet uptime for all customers, our Content Delivery Network partner is helping alleviate network traffic during peak hours. Some traffic may be deprioritized to ensure internet stability for all customers, which can result in slower download speeds for gaming downloads during high-usage times.

If you are experiencing slow download speeds, there are several troubleshooting steps we can first attempt that may resolve your issue. We always recommend checking your Network Bandwith in the Battle.net App Settings, as well as these common steps for Installation and Patching issues.

If the issue persists and it’s during peak internet usage times (such as 6pm-12am in many regions globally), we recommend leaving the download running . As overall internet congestion returns to normal throughout the night, providers are allocating more bandwidth for large file downloads which will improve your download speeds.

With more folks staying home in today’s environment, it’s critical for us to make sure you can stay connected to your friends through gaming. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate through these strange times together. Our team is continuing to look for solutions to provide the best experience in our games, from installation to your first victory in-game.

Load of crap, can’t even download or play the game I paid for. Sort it out.

my internet Is running at 100mbps and I cannot update modern warfare or download world of Warcraft please help me

This is a load of BS…

It doesnt explain why we’re prompted to re-download the entire 170GB game, when the patch is merely 200mb’s…

When I switch to US VPN I have no connection to the internet at all. Why?

I took my brother’s SSD after he’d updated and plugged it into my PC, moved away my game files then transferred the game files over to the right location (C:\Program Files (x86)\Call of Duty Modern Warfare). Hit scan and repair and it worked perfectly.

For me there is 1 sort of fix to get it downloading again.

When its stuck:

  1. Go to download settings (blue cog next to progress bar).
  2. At the bottom of the page change the Latest Updates bandwith limit to 300Kb/s and click DONE
  3. Pause and start the download. It wil start downloading now @ 300 kb/s
  4. Now set the bandwith limit back to 0 (no limit).
After a few secs you will see the download running at your connections maximum speed.
  5. Repeat 1 to 4 everytime its stuck.

Obviously this is an utter cr*ppy ‘solution’ but at least you can complete the donwload eventually.

Shout-out to Battle.net for doing absolutely nothing to fix this dumb issues. You tha man!

Change the region to something else then start the update/download. Then change back after it’s downloaded.
