Do suspension time lengths for accounts ever reset?
I do not understand why I’m getting my account suspended for a month when it’s been over 6-8 months since the last infraction.
It’s terrible because all it takes is a few people to spam group report your account and you’re receiving penalties that feel mostly unjustified.
No, they do not reset. The duration of your penalty is based on the number of previous confirmed infractions on the game license. It will keep getting longer until they close the license. I do not know when that happens.
The most you can get from the reports alone automatically - is a Squelch pending GM review. An actual Suspension has to be applied by a GM after reviewing the logs attached to the report. Again, duration is based on how many past infractions the licence has.
You say “mostly” unjustified. Usually that means you might have typed some things you realize were not really appropriate for the game. Blizz does not allow profanity, masked profanity, slurs, hateful speech, toxic insults, discussion of illegal/illicit activities, sexual innuendo, etc. Spam, advertising, etc can also result in a social penalty. It all falls under misuse of the chat channels.
Feel free to yell things out loud IRL when frustrated, or say what you want in private groups with friends. Just don’t type it out in public chats and groups in the games.
