Bnet Constantly Asking For Permission

Battle.net App constantly asks for permission to make changes to pc every time I open it up, and it’s getting quite annoying. Nothing happens while I play though. But I’ve never had the app do that before in the last two years I’ve played. This is the first time. I’m on Windows 11 by the way. I’ve already set it to Run as Admin, and changed the setting on Bnet app for it to exit completely when launching the game.

I’m just wondering if I should be concerned that it asks me for permission literally EVERY TIME I open the App?

Have you changed the properties of Battle.Net.exe, Battle.net Launcher.exe, or the BNet shortcut on your desktop to “Run this program as an administrator” ?

If you did… that’s why it’s asking for permission each time you launch the app.

It was asking for permission before I changed it to Run as Admin, so I looked it up and one of the suggestions was to do that… but after this reply, I toggled it off again and that worked. Thanks.

Good work !

Was having the same issues. The above helped for now. Btw this was on a clean install of windows 11 via installation media(usb). Very weird. Maybe the installation file is bugged or something.

Same here, exactly in fact: clean Win11 install with MCT via USB a couple days ago.

I’ll try toggling the admin setting and see what happens.

Hey how did you make out? I’ve narrowed it down after a fresh install of Win11 with a new formatted usb with MCT

It’s not the launcher app doing I’m pretty sure but to be safe
Enable run as admin of both the launcher and the battle net app in the install folder.
Reboot
Then disable admin on them
Reboot
Launched into the background without a UAC prompt

I don’t why it does this I’m starting to hate W11 so much it’s insane. Nothing but grief from this OS.

I enabled run as admin on the launcher exe only. Then just went back in and disabled it a second later.

So far it hasn’t prompted the UAC since.

Interesting. I’m really curious what causes this.
